I'm Kaleem.

I grew up in the city of Georgetown, Guyana, the second youngest of eleven kids. From a young age, I realized that my parents were not able to afford the things that other kids had because my equivalent to Christmas morning was getting my older brother's hand-me-downs that they've outgrown.

I remember getting my first real gift that was in a barrel sent from a family member abroad. It was two pairs of the most radiant white socks wrapped with my name on them. I was so overcome with happiness that day and since then I have been determined to make an impact on those that needed it. No matter how small, no matter how simple.

I'm Lolita.

I’ve always felt the need to advocate for underprivileged women in my community. In 1984 I launched a Secretarial School that taught ESOL, Shorthand and Typewriting to women who could not afford to attend post-secondary school. These skills opened doors for them to pursue their own career, and further support their families.

In 2013 after the Typhoon hit the Philippines, Kaleem and I realized that help was needed globally. We connected with 2 families to whom we sent food, clothing and school supplies. We funded the education of the two eldest children and ensured that they graduated, which they did, with honours. They were then able to support their families going forward.

Over the past years not only did Kaleem travel to the Philippines; but together we have travelled to Costa Rica and Guatemala where we were able to make a difference. It’s that one act of kindness that changes the future of these individuals and families. It’s what makes us so happy to continue to do what we do.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
