After Talisay, I travelled to Cordova which was about two hours away. As I walked around, I noticed the number of kids with no shoes, and even some with no clothing. I asked the local adults to help me gather the children of that village the next day so I can share the clothing. When I arrived I saw that the children and adults were waiting for my arrival and looked so happy. I began to take out the clothing and sanitary items and ensured there was enough for everyone to have. After handing out everything and as I was getting ready to leave the kids were asking their parents and coming up to me and asking if I can come back again the next day and I agreed. The next day I bought some groceries and used someone’s woodstove that was located outside and prepared pasta (which is usually eaten on special occasions like birthdays) and chicken. Some children asked me why I do this and what I do for a living. When I asked them what they wanted to do I got various answers. Some wanted to be teachers, and some said they wanted to help people just like I did. After handing out the food, I was told that the children organized a play for me. It was a musical, filled with happiness and laughter. I couldn’t imagine a better way to end my evening there in Cordova.
